Not every single is looking for a date...

Many times I remember just needing sounding boards, friends who were in the same situation as me. I used to play tennis with a particularly funny and kind soul named Cara. We had been close frineds for years and suddenly found ourselves in the same boat: single and looking. That "and looking" part can holds up an otherwise fulfilled life.

We would play tennis, talk about whatever dates we may, or may not, have had, and enjoyed the day for what it was: completely ours and always culminating with ice cream. Over time, as we realized we may never find "the one," we also came to love ourselves more. Completing our unique individual development became fulfilling in and of itself. We were deeply connected to people, but just didn't happen to have steady romantic partners.

Love happens when you are busy doing other things. That includes living life to its fullest. Connecting as fellow singles through Chatterbox, rooting for one another, offering support and celebrating one another's individuality and innate specialness is a worthy pursuit. There is so much excitement out there, and in each of you. So much to talk about. It isn't just about Singles Day. When you do it right, every day is Singles Day.

Carry on accordingly.
